Current guide set

Guide Archive

Guide Archive lists the fifteen guides in the current generated build, grouped by topic rather than date. It is a canonical inventory, not stored prior copies or a public revision history. The 31 August 2026 rebuild replaced unsafe or outdated draft material on canonical guide URLs and retained four exact legacy redirects.

Before you begin

  • The current archive holds fifteen guides in five topic groups.
  • Grouping is by topic; listing order within a topic is not a chronology.
  • The archive reflects the current canonical build, not a public revision history.
  • Exactly four legacy addresses redirect to named current or reserved pages.
  • The 31 August 2026 rebuild replaced unsafe or outdated draft material in place.
  • Individual guide pages carry their own structure and any supplied source panel.

Purpose of the archive

The Guide Archive is the canonical directory for the site's current field guides. It groups linked titles by topic rather than date, so it presents the current inventory rather than a timeline.

The public build does not expose prior guide copies or a revision history. The archive reflects the wording generated for 31 August 2026; it makes no claim about copies held outside the public site.

Topic groups

The fifteen guides are organised into five topics: Fishing, Bush safety, Hunting & ethics, Archery and Firearm safety. Each guide is assigned to one group, and listing order does not imply chronology or recency.

The current build uses these five groups. This page makes no promise that future site structure or category membership will remain unchanged.

  • Fishing
  • Bush safety
  • Hunting & ethics
  • Archery
  • Firearm safety

Canonical and legacy URLs

The current build preserves exactly four legacy addresses as redirects. They point to canonical or deliberately reserved pages without republishing the former wording.

These four entries are the complete legacy redirect inventory configured in the current build.

  • Privacy redirects to Privacy Policy
  • Terms redirects to Terms of Use
  • Miscellaneous redirects to Field Notes and Small Essentials
  • Speaking Engagements redirects to the reserved Speaking page

How updates work

The updated date on a guide records the substantive 31 August 2026 content revision. It is not a statement that the guide received legal review or independent expert approval.

During this rebuild, unsafe or outdated draft material was replaced on the canonical guide URLs. The archive presents the resulting current guide set by topic.

Reading the archive

Each guide page shows its category, an estimated reading time, the updated date, a contents list, takeaways, related guides, and an official-resource panel where a source has been supplied.

Use the five topic groups to choose a starting point, then follow related-guide links within each guide to move sideways through the set. The archive is best read alongside Guide Method, which explains how guides are drafted and what they do not promise.

The field standard

Guide Archive reflects the canonical guide set in the current generated build. It is not a record of earlier wording and does not rank guides by date. Guide Method describes the rebuild process and its limits. Confirm information for a particular jurisdiction or circumstance with the responsible authority or a qualified professional.
